As required by the North Carolina Office of the State Auditor, each public school district is required to establish and maintain a system of accountability for its fixed assets. Reliable fixed asset records enable our district officials to protect Edgecombe County Public School’s investments by providing values for insurance coverage to reporting requirements and financial statements.  Proper fixed asset management is a key factor in formulating policies and strategies for acquisitions, maintenance, replacement, and retirement of our district’s fixed asset base. To better assist our schools and department directors, the technology department developed a handbook which defines and outlines ECPS’s policies, guidelines, processes and procedures pertaining to fixed assets.
Asset management is a collaborative effort.  Together, we can maintain accurate records; resulting in long-term success.
