Student Support Services
Student Support Services is committed to providing support to our scholars in Pre-K through 12th grade within a school environment that promotes student academic success, school safety, and mental health wellness by building resilience, coping strategies, interventions, and through social emotional learning.
Student Support Services main focuses are:
Academic coaching through a series of semester long conversations designed. to enhance student well-being and academic performance
Coordinating education of homeless and foster care scholars
Coordinating character education/safe school activities
Managing student records/attendance activities
Coordinating a Comprehensive School Health Program
Provide support and resources to students and families

The District Mental Health Coordinator provides mental health support, Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum implementation, and resources for students, staff, and families through the NC School Mental Health Initiative.

Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS)/ Integrated Academic Behavior Coordinator

The Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS)/Integrated Academic Behavior Coordinator provides universal support school-wide with core instruction, behavioral, and emotional support to all students through a layered multi-tiered approach; universal, targeted, and intense.
Our fourteen (14) schools consist of teams of Counselors, Social Workers, and Nurses to provide daily support to students through social-emotional learning activities, counseling, support groups, health checks and assessments, parent engagement, and community involvement.
