Congratulations to Emily Lemus, ECPS Beginning Teacher of the Year!
We are proud to announce that Emily Lemus, a Social Studies teacher at Edge Academy of Health Sciences, has been recognized as the district's Beginning Teacher of the Year. In just her first year, Ms. Lemus has made an incredible impact on her students and community.
Known for building exceptional relationships with her students, Ms. Lemus consistently goes above and beyond to check in on them, especially during challenging times. Her dedication extends beyond the classroom, as she actively supports students at off-campus activities and events.
One of her remarkable achievements includes organizing a team of students for National History Day, where she led three students to the state level, with one earning the award for Best Overall Essay. Her thoughtfulness shines through in the 'just because' gifts she shares with staff members, making her an invaluable part of her school community.
