Edgecombe County Public Schools is proud to recognize Mrs. Phylicia Danza, SouthWest Edgecombe High School Teacher, as the Employee of the Month for February!
Mrs. Danza brings an unparalleled level of creativity and enthusiasm to her classroom, incorporating engaging, hands-on learning experiences—such as interactive escape rooms—to make lessons come to life. Her passion for education extends well beyond the classroom, as she continuously seeks ways to support students and staff alike.
Her contributions are far-reaching. She has stepped up as a backup bus driver, taken on the role of tennis coach, and led the school’s United Way campaign, all while maintaining her dedication to student success. Going above and beyond, she even volunteered to drive a group of students to NC State University for a STEM camp, ensuring they had access to valuable learning experiences.
Mrs. Danza’s unwavering commitment, adaptability, and team-first mentality truly set her apart. She is not only an exceptional educator but also an inspiring leader and role model for both students and colleagues.
Special thanks to State Farm Agent, Greg Sessoms, for sponsoring this award. He will be providing Ms. Danza with a gift card to a local business.
