Time to meet the new principal of Phillips Middle School!
Due to potential weather concerns, all ECPS summer camps will be dismissing early today at 1:45 PM out of an abundance of caution. Safety is our top priority, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
The Edgecombe County Health Department is hosting a series of immunization clinics to ensure the health and safety of our students and community. These clinics provide an easy and convenient way for students to receive their required vaccinations before the school year begins.
Our dedicated ECPS principals, assistant principals, and other district leaders are hard at work today planning an amazing school year ahead! Today’s meeting has been filled with collaboration, innovative ideas, and a shared commitment to making this year the best one yet for our students and staff. We are excited to announce the appointment of Mr. Quarry Williams as the new Principal of Phillips Middle School. Mr. Williams brings over 12 years of dedicated educational experience and is a visionary leader with a genuine passion for fostering high student achievement.
Most recently, Mr. Williams served as the Coordinator of Connections Learning Academy, ECPS’s Alternative Learning Program. Prior to that, he was an Assistant Principal at Nashville Elementary School, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to student success.
Mr. Williams holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from North Carolina Wesleyan, a Master of Education in School Counseling from Salem College, and a License in School Administration from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
We are confident that Mr. Williams's innovative approach and unwavering commitment will greatly benefit the Phillips community.
"I am excited about this opportunity, and I am looking forward to building positive connections with all the families, staff, and community partners at Phillips Middle School. With a focus on the student's well-being and growth, my goal is to help every student reach their best and fullest potential," said Williams.

Open House is tonight, Tuesday, July 9, from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
Read to Achieve Sites are Coker-Wimberly Elementary School, Carver Elementary School., and Stocks Elementary School.
RTA camp will start Wednesday, July 10 and continue through July 30.
Coker-Wimberly Elementary School will also include students from Baskerville Elementary School, D.S. Johnson Elementary School and Fairview Elementary School.
Stocks Elementary School will also include Martin Millennium Academy and Princeville Elementary School students.
GW Carver Elementary will include G.W. Bulluck Elementary School students.

We are excited to announce the appointment of Mrs. DeNeasha Strother as the new Principal of W. A. Pattillo Middle School.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from North Carolina Wesleyan College and a Master of School Administration from North Carolina State University, where she was part of the Northeast Leadership Academy.
In her current role as the Assistant Principal of Martin Millennium Academy, Mrs. Strother has demonstrated dynamic leadership and compassion. We are confident that her vision, dedication, and expertise will greatly benefit the W. A. Pattillo community.

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Ms. Tiffany Mercer as the new Principal of Stocks Elementary School.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education, as well as a Master of School Administration, both from Fayetteville State University.
Ms. Mercer has been an invaluable asset to Stocks Elementary School, previously serving as the Assistant Principal.
"My love for learning has always been a driving force in my life. It fuels my curiosity, ignites my passion, and pushes me to continually grow and improve. I believe that every challenge is an opportunity to learn, and every setback is a lesson in disguise. Success may be delayed, but it is never denied," said Mercer.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Central Michigan University, a Master of Arts in Reading Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix, and a Master of School Administration from North Carolina State University, where she was part of the Northeast Leadership Academy and a North Carolina Principal Fellow.
Ms. Palmer is well known in the ECPS community for her unwavering commitment to continuous growth and excellence in education. Currently serving as the Assistant Principal of Coker Elementary School, she has proven herself as an invaluable asset with a strong track record of fostering academic excellence and supporting student development.
"I am excited to join G. W. Carver this school year as principal. I am dedicated to fostering a school community rooted in relationships, equitable opportunities, and high expectations. My goal is for every student and staff member to feel loved, challenged, and prepared to succeed in their chosen paths," said Palmer.
